This marker commemorates the City of Long Beach's 35th Anniversary of sisterhood with Yokkaichi, Japan. The marker reads:
"Commemorating the 35th Anniversary
of the
Long Beach - Yokkaichi Sister City Association

November 1998"
This marker is also adjacent to a Japanese Garden which was built as a homage to the sisterhood. There is also a Torii Gate which was a gift from Yokkaichi in 1998 to commemorate Long Beach's centennial.
