Monmouth House is a grade 2 listed building in Ringwood West Street, built during the 17th century. This house was famous for the reason indicated on the plaque.

The inscription reads "Following defeat at the Battle of Sedgemoor in 1685 the Duke of Monmouth was held in this house prior to his execution in the Tower of London".
