James "Bubby" Braxton - Woodruff Park - Connellsville, Pennsylvania
This memorial was created in the Woodruff Park in Connellsville for James Braxton, a graduate of Connellsville Area Senior High School. Mr. Braxton was a Football Player for West Virginia University during his college years, then played professionally for the Buffalo Bills, where he was blocking O.J. Simpson and later, the Miami Dolphins.
Jim passed away in 1986, at the age of 37, due to cancer, following which a memorial was placed here, logically due to 1936 Olympian John Woodruff being African-American.
