The Storybook Trail is a .25 mile handicapped-accessible paved trail through the woods to an overlook with spectacular views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Shenandoah Valley. Interpretive signs tell how the Massanutten Mountains were formed and provide a geological history with drawings and diagrams of the Massanutten sandstone, shale, and limestone. Along the way, there are 'rock rings', alcoves in the rock, to sit, study geologic samples, or just commune with Mother Nature.
