This blue plaque is on the home and studio of Thomas Dolliver Church, a prominent San Francisco Bay Area landscape architect. Church received his B.A. degree in landscape architecture from the UC Berkeley and his master’s degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Design. Thomas Church had a hand in the master plan of several universities, including Stanford, UC Berkeley and UC Santa Cruz.

The Church Residence is located along the fairways of the Pasatiempo Golf Club outside Santa Cruz, California. The architect of the Church home was William W. Wurster. Wurster is also the architect for the nearby Butler House in Pasatiempo.
