Here's how it works:
A visitor stands on the centerline of the pad and then moves to the current month. If it is closer to the previous month, the visitor stands near that month. For example, if the date is May 3, the visitor would stand on May, but closer to April than June. The visitor then raises hands overhead, palms together, and watches for the shadow.
The sundial was figured using Daylight Savings Time, so individuals have to adjust accordingly.

This sun dial is situated in a beautiful children's park. It is meant to be "kid friendly" and encourage interaction between kids and their adults. After you determine the time, be sure to head to the "100 Acre Wood" and visit Pooh and Friends!
