This fountain, located behind the Balboa Park Administration Building was once part of a vast U.S. Navy Hospital complex. The Building was once the administration building for the hospital. In 1988, the City and the U.S. Navy did a land swap...and the Navy built a new hospital very close by.
The fountain still has insignia of the Navy on its sides.
