The building is a former Masonic Temple and Movie Theater. The 9 story building was built in 1928. The south side of the building once included a Coca Cola Ad.
The ads are for the 501 N. Brand avenue branch of California Bank, which billed itself as "A Good Bank For You - Dependable and Conservative" and Kessler Whiskey "Smooth". The remnants of a third sign is located to the upper right of the wall. Research was unable to divine what the third sign adjacent referenced.
