On permanent exhibit at the Buffalo Bill Museum is this mounted Buffalo Head along with many other artifacts connected to the life of Buffalo Bill.
The placard accompanying the exhibit informs us:
"BUFFALO HEAD
with Certificate Verifying Last Buffalo Killed
Buffalo Bill killed his last buffalo in 1888.
In 1915 he presented the mounted head of
the buffalo to his friend with a certificate
authenticating it. The head was presented
to the Museum in 1921."
