The Fisherman is a wooden carving located near the duck pond of Tulsa's Braden Park. The fisherman is standing on a base, looking straight forward, and his feet are hidden inside the concrete. He is dressed in fisherman attire, and a string of fish hang on his left side. The sculpture is in pretty bad shape, although it seems to have fared a little better than the wooden carving on the other side of the park, by this same sculptor. A large piece of wood is missing from the left side of the man's torso (see photo).

Description:
A fisherman stands on a cylindric base into which his feet disappear. He wears a slouch hat, shirt, and suspenders which hold up hip waders. A fish hangs on a gig from his proper left shoulder. The cylindric base stands on a low square base.
Remarks:
Commissioned in honor of the Tulsa Anglers Club. Sculpture was carved with a chain saw. The sculpture has been repeatedly vandalized. The figure's limbs and head have been sawed off and subsequently, the feet and arms hand were stolen. The City reattached the head. Repairs in the early 1990s included installation on the base, replacement of the plaque and a varnish application. IAS files include a picture from Tulsa World, Dec. 3, 1988, taken after an early repair and showing the sculpture intact and on its original base.
