Near Beny-sur-Mer, a Canadian flag and a monument in a field commemorate the B4 Airfield that the 401st, 411th and 412th Squadrons of the Royal Canadian Air Force used just after the D-
Day Landing. They were based here from 18 June - 7 August 1944.

After an enlightening and moving visit to Juno Beach, the D-Day Landing beach for the Canadian forces during WWII, we drove past this Canadian flag in the middle of nowhere and felt compelled to drive back to see what this could be. It was a plaque to mark the B4 Airfield that was located in this field and used by 3 Squadrons (401st, 411th, 412th) of the Royal Canadian Air Force that were based here from June 18th - August 7th 1944.
This region is a wonderful place to visit if you are interested in the Canadian contributions to the war effort in France.
