When leaving the Maryland State House at State Circle and heading westward along School Street to blend into Church Circle where St. Anne's Church is located, a quaint sundial is visible from both the public sidewalk and from the walking path of the government house property on which the sundial is actually located. There are two ways of viewing this sundial: entering the gated path by the intersection at School Street and State Circle or staying outside the wrought iron fence and viewing it from the pubic sidewalk.
