This village sign has a double-sided duplicate image with several colourful tiled pictures on the brick plinth. It lies in the village of Great Houghton.

Made for the millennium and bearing the Women's Institute emblem the sign's main picture depicts a village scene. Two small circles show a stag and orchard. The main image has a pheasant in the foreground whilst the church of St Mary the Blessed Virgin stands in the centre with the war memorial in the churchyard. Sheaves of wheat are also shown to the sides.

Around the brick plinth are tiles from the local school, made by the children, some are signed. One shows tulips, the church, a stag and an apple under a bright sun. Another shows the village pub; the war memorial under a sun in the green churchyard; a stag lying down; a peacock; and a village scene.

The plaque on the sign reads:
