In front of the house he grew up in on a city street!
John O'hara was liked and disliked; kinda! Many thought that the people in his books were based on the people that lived on Mahantongo Street and The Pottsville club!
The walking tour has the streets and place names on them just like in the books!

This was the home from 1916-1928,of one of America's best known novelist's and short story writers!
Born at Pottsville in 1905,he used this Anthracite region as a setting for several of his major works!
John O'Hara died at Princeton, N.J. in 1970
