The Chicago Board of Trade Battery Monument is a short, solid rectangular block. The word Illinois is in raised letter. The front surface is polished and inscribed text. There is a plaque on the rear of the monument description the actions of the Chicago Board of Trade Battery during the Battle of Chickamauga.
