The 4th Ohio Cavalry Monument is located on Genn-Viniard / Vittetoe Chickamauga Road near driving tour stop 6, Chickamauga National Battlefield Park. The monuments to the 1st, 3rd and 4th Ohio Cavalry Monument are located close to each other.

The monument depicts a Cavalryman on hourseback charging, his left hand holds the reins. He holds his sword in his right hand which is raised above his head. There are two bronze plaques in the top corners of the monument. The left one is the Ohio state seal, the right hand one is the symbol for the 4th Calvary. A plaque on the rear of the monument description the actions of the 4th during the Chickamauga campaign.
From plaque on the rear of the monument:
The 4th Cavalry was organized by Col. John Kennett, Its first commander in 1861, for three years. Commanded at Chickamauga by Lieut. Col. Oliver P. Robie; participated in all the fighting of Col. Eli Long's Brigade of Crooks Division, at the Chickamauga Fords and above Crawfish Springs, south and east of this point. Loss, killed 4: wounded 9: captured or missing 21: total 34.
