Fallowfield treasures its rural roots. In June 1886, the cornerstone of this Methodist church was laid in place by Canada's first prime minister Sir John A. MacDonald. Previous to this, the congregation worshipped in a frame structure at this site since 1868. This original building was shared by the Methodists and Presbyterians (who later built their own building next door). On June 25th, 1925 with the formation of the United Church of Canada, the Methodist building became Fallowfield United Church. Today it warmly and enthusiastically embraces its present and its future.
