Of the three Ludwig castles, this one looks the most like Versailles. It was never completed due to lack of funds but does have some finished rooms, including a spectacular "Hall of Mirrors" reproduction. You can visit the inside of the castle only via a guided tour (available in English and other languages)
The castle is located on an island in the middle of the Chiemsee lake. Access is via ferry. You board the ferry at the lakeside town of Prien. (N47 51.658 E12 21.950).
