The anchor is used to enhance Memorial Park. It is upright, leaning with a rope tightly coiled around a wooden pylon. The anchor is newly painted, gray, with a sharp gray handle at top. It is surrounded by three dedicated/donated benches with an informational plaque in the center. The anchor comes from the fleet escort ship John King, "Charles F. Adams" Class. It was commissioned in 1960. The anchor was dedicated on May 26th, 1997.
