Ve meste se nachází rodný dum a sídlo nadace J. A. Schumpetera, jednoho z nejvýznamnejších ekonomu 20. století, prvního rakouského ministra financí, profesora v Bonnu a na Harwardu a zejména známého tvurce japonského hospodárského zázraku. Dnes je tento palácový dum sídlem Turistického informacního centra, pobocky Muzea Vysociny a expozice Spolku prátel betlému.

There is a native house and a seat of the charity of J. A. Schumpeter it the town. He was one of the most distinguished economists of the 20th cetnury, the first Austrian Minister of Finance, the professor of honour in the Harvard University and in Bonn, the fellow-creater of the Japanesse economic miracle. At the present time the building houses Tourist Information Centre, the Highland Museum and the exposition of Trešt Nativity scenes.
