This waymark is located in Beaver Creek Nature Area near Brandon. Getting to this bridge will require a hike of about 3/4 mile. This bridge spans an intermittent creek and gully that would be a challenge to traverse without the bridge.

Developed to increase environmental awareness in visitors, Beaver Creek Nature Area highlights natural and historical resources in the vicinity. Pioneers named the creek for the numerous beaver they found along the winding spring-fed stream. The stream flows year-round, supplying the numerous plants and animals with water, and in turn, supplying visitors with opportunities to observe nature up-close.
This suspension bridge is available all year round, but there are times when the path can be a little icy in the winter time. In the summer, having water along is strongly recommended.
To get to the Beaver Creek Recreation Area parking from Brandon, SD, proceed east on East Aspen Blvd. for two miles (also known as State Hiway 264). Turn right (South) on County Highway 109. In two miles, turn right again (West) and arrive at the entrance to the recreation area in about 1/2 mile.
From the parking area, take the Homesteader Nature Trail. A map to the Beaver Creek Nature Area can be found at the link below:

As long as you are in the area, take the time to hike the other trails and to see the historic cabin at the center.
