In 2001, our local ghost research group, South Jersey Ghost Research first visited this cemetery and came away with some interesting, and frightening information and pictures. Of course there were the ubiquitous orbs floating around, but they also documented some mist, or spirit mist as they call it. The stuff looks pretty compelling. My visit revealed no spirits, ghosties, or any other unexplained phenomenon. I didn't even experience a goose bump.

From my previous waymark:

The East Berlin Cemetery is located at Cooper Road and Chestnut Avenue, in West Berlin, NJ. This is the primary burial location for many East Berlin families. In the rear there is also a nice veterans memorial.

The cemetery is in a rural, kind of lonely area, on a side road. I was able to count 1012 graves. There are some unmarked graves which obviously are impossible to count but I believe this is a really good approximation of what is there. The site is reputed to be haunted. If you are into ghosts and hauntings you gotta visit this SITE.

I was able to find some limited information HERE. On the source page, I found this and thought it was interesting enough to post here: According to Samuel Asbell, author of, The Lost Black Legion, A search for the Soldiers and Sailors of the Civil War in Camden County, New Jersey, there is a USCT buried in the East Berlin Cemetery. His name is William Henry Smith and his grave is unmarked.
