Plukovník kníže Karl Ligne se podílel na výstavbe pevnosti Josefov. Pomník puvodne stál v zahrade za Jaromerskou bránou. Památník byl restaurován v roce 1999

Colonel Prince of Ligne Karl was involved in the construction of fortress Josefov. The monument originally stood in the garden behind Jaromerský gate. The monument was restored in 1999
