The village Brodek u Prerova is a seat of a world famous Bellfoundry "Tomášková - Dytrychová" (http://www.zvony-tomaskova.cz/) founded here by Josef Dytrych in 1950. In 1999 the unique carillon was constructed in small park in front of village church according to design of Jirí Studenecký. All of the 22 bells of the carillon were casted in the Bellfoundry. The heaviest bell has about 220 kgs and the lightest one has about 5 kgs. The carillon played at first on January 1st, 2000 at 00:00 hrs. More then 100 melodies can be controlled either by computer or electronic keyboard can be connected and one can play carillon "manually". Every day at 18 o'clock or on Sundays and Holidays at 12 o'clock is played random melody.
