Grayville's most famous hotel, The Mitchell House, was located here. Built in 1850, it was the most luxurious and best known hotel in this area. It housed many notable guests including; J.P. Morgan, William Vanderbuilt, and Amy Young, the 19th wife of Bringham Young. It burned in 1909.
