The Citizen Potawatomi Nation governs an area bounded by the North Canadian River, the South Canadian River, the Potawatomi-Seminole County boundary (on the east), and the Indian Meridian (on the west).

The Nation's government has an executive committee made up of the Chairman, Vice Chairman and Secretary-Treasurer. There is a 16-member CPN legislature. Half the members represent Citizen Potawatomis in Oklahoma. The other eight members represent a legislative district outside Oklahoma. The judiciary branch is made up of a district court and Supreme Court.

Article I, Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution recognizes that Indian tribes, like foreign nations, are sovereigns and exercise varying amounts of control within their territories.

These Tribal Headquarters house the executive, legislative and judicial branches of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation. The Potawatomi lands are open to the public and not restricted. The Headquarters building may have areas not open to the public.

The additional coordinates shown are for the CPN Cultural Heritage Center aboput one-half mile south.
