As in other villages of the parish, the main activity has always been practiced in agriculture land near the town (of the Cross Neighborhood, the quarter, Seixeira, Lady of Light) and the surrounding area (Arelho; Avarela, Behind the Outeiro ) With the production of cereals, wine, olive oil, vegetables and some fruit).
It was in these edges that was built the source of Nª Sª da Luz, formerly called "court of Women."
