The last remnant of Santa Clara Valley's agricultural heritage, Mount Hamilton Grange now sits surrounded by track homes and strip malls. Once the Santa Clara Valley was hailed as the finest growing area in the world. Now it is known as Silicon Valley, and is called home by two million people. And yet this hall survives and even thrives, holding several events per week. The day I visited it was the local election station. The building is up to the latest fire and earthquake codes, and should continue to be functional for many years.
