King Charles II is depicted on the sign in regalia with a neatly trimmed beard. The pub is owned by Hall and Woodhouse.

The King visited Poole on the 15th September 1665 and dined with the Duke of Monmouth at a nearby house (now demolished). The King's Head was once known as the Plume of Feathers. It was a haunt of sea captains and explorations in the building revealed at least five hidden passageways, thought to have been used by smugglers. Please see: visit link
