This is one of many granite posts used to mark the "corner" points on the boundary lines between towns in Massachusetts, in this case, the Towns of Manchester and Wenham. It is an "A" shaped slab about eight inches thick, two feet wide at the base, and four feet high. The letter "M" (for Manchester) is painted on one side, and "W" (for Wenham) is on the opposite side.

To reach the marker, take exit 17 (Grapevine Road) off route 128 towards Beverly Farms. After about 0.5 miles, turn left (north) onto Preston Place. Drive to the end (nearly a mile), and park in front of the gate on the left, just before the driveway to the last house. Enter the woods road to the left beyond the gate, and then follow the trails and your GPS about 0.7 miles to the marker.

The next adjacent marker heading north is Manchester-Wenham B, about 707 feet.
The next adjacent marker heading south is Beverly-Manchester-Wenham, about 760 feet.
