There's not much left of this boat...and it is open to the elements, so, it will probably deteriorate rapidly. Batsto is an abandoned and preserved bog iron producing town which later turned to glassmaking. The boat is covered by an open air structure..and the signage indicates the following:

"ORE BOAT OR BARGE

THIS BOAT IS TYPICAL OF THE BARGES
USED TO CARRY BOG IRON ORE
TO THE BATSTO FURNACE.
IT IS ESTIMATED TO BE 150 YEARS OLD
AND IS 43 FT. LONG, WITH AN 11 FT. BEAM.
THE BOAT WAS EXCAVATED
FROM THE NORTH SIDE OF THE
BATSTO DAM IN 1957."
