Devil's Throat is a large sinkhole that began developing only within the last twenty to twenty-five years or so. It is found in the middle of a flat basin southwest of the Whitney Pocket area. Sinkholes are more common in wetter parts of the country. Some believe that nearby Lake Mead may be playing a role in the development of this sinkhole. It is about 100 feet deep. The bottom of the hole is dry. The edge is fenced off to prevent people from trying to enter the hole.

If you know anything else about this sinkhole please e-mail me with the information so I can update this listing.
