The Pinnacle Natural Area Preserve borders the Big Cedar Creek – a state scenic river – as it winds to its confluence with the Clinch River.

The front parking lot at N 36° 57.190 W 082° 03.318 has several picnic tables. The swinging bridge is right there leading to the Big Cedar Creek Trail on the other side, which proceed to other nature preserve paths.
