link , the original photograph was taken in August 1865 as taken by photographer Timothy O'Sullivan. The vantage point was on the Stage Road, west of the courthouse. (Likely right by Meeks' General Store.)
Description: Towns people and members of Company D, 188th Pennsylvania posing on the west side of the courthouse in August, 1865.
The current photograph was taken in July 2010 - almost 145 years later. The NPS description answers which side of the symmetric courthouse was the photo taken. The stairs on the east side were likely blown off during the last days of fighting.
