This mill was originally constructed in 1878, and is the last of 6 mills originally built by the Town's first mayor, E.D. Tillson. It functioned as a pea & barley mill until the 1920's, when it was sold to the Canadian Cereal Company. The mill changed hands again in 1950, and it operated as a grist mill from 1955 to 1972.

Originally, the property also was home to two other mills - flour and corn. These mills were destroyed by Charlie Laister, who wanted to use the space these mills occupied for storage.

The mill was purchased in 2000 by Gordon Craig and converted into a restaurant and inn. The mill now has a beautiful character and has a glass enclosed patio that overlooks Big Otter Creek, and a wine cellar. The original millstone sits outsite the building.

The mill power was provided by water brought in from a pond across the road, in a 30 inch pipe, and Big Otter Creek.
