This sundial was given to Atlanta by the Federal Republic of Germany in 1983. It is located along Margaret Mitchell Square in Walton Spring Triangle. Walton Spring Triangle is a small park bounded by Andrew Young International Blvd, Spring Street and Carnegie Way.
The German Sundial is an Equatorial sundial made from steel and iron that stands on top of a triangular limestone base. The base has the Federal Republic of Germany Eagle on one side and a globe held in a pair of hand on another side. The sundial sits in a bed of liriope. A plaque that reads “The Federal Republic of Germany to Atlanta 1983” is attached to the sidewalk in front of the sundial.

The eagle is not on all 3 side of the base. One side has a representation of the earth with what appears to be hands holding it (see photograph). Did not check side 3.
