The tall three stage west tower of All Saints' Church is of the C16 Perpendicular design built in ashlar gritstone and coursed squared gritstone. The second stage has a clockface high up on the west side, it is dated 1870, and further up there are louvred bell openings. The hours and quarters are struck on the bells hung in the tower.
The church is built on rising land to the east of the village and it's tall tower, and hence the clock, would have been visible from most of the original village, as it would from the surrounding land to the west.
