Josefina de Vasconcellos MBE (1904-2005) - Grave of a Famous Person on Waymarking.com

In 1930 she married Delmar Banner a landscape painter. Less famous than Heaton Cooper. Both Josefina and Delmar were independently wealthy. Neither having to make a living from their art. Her most enduring and famous sculpture is now called Reconciliation, original name was Reunion. The story that inspired the work is very moving. Copies have been cast and placed in many significant places. Stormont, Reichstag, Hiroshima and Coventry Cathedral. Josefina was working right up to the end. She is buried between her husband Delmar Banner a landscape artist and one of her adopted son, William. Both pre-deceased her. Her other adopted son Brian is buried close by and died in 2009.
