There are three figures carved on this step, but only the middle one (bell) is easily distinguishable in the worn concrete. The carvings on the step are located on the west side of the mansion, and are stop #9 on the self-guided tour. They are at the entrance to the west wing of the house.
Just around the corner from the step is another sculpture on the Smithsonian list that is worth looking at.

Riordan State Park and Mansion is located in Flagstaff, on the campus of Northern Arizona University. There is no charge for the self-guided walking tour, but there is a small fee to enter the mansion if you choose to do so. The staff at the visitor's center is very knowledgeable and helpful. There is a gift shop here as well.

The information on the Self-Guided walking tour says this about the step:
Here at the front entrance to Michael and Elizabeth Riordan's home, the top of the first step displays a wolf, a bell, and a coyote. These figures are very worn but still visible.

Riordan Mansion State Historic Park is closed on Tuesday and Wednesdays.
Hours are 9:30 - 5 Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday
