The sculpture was inspired by an elephant skull presumeably.

Made from bronze, the sculpture was created in 1970.

The accompnaying photos are those of the 2nd sculpture by Moore that is placed in the Princeton University sculpture park. These sculptures are identical, both 11 feet tall.
