Ansel Adams took a photograph of Silverton, Colorado near the posted coordinates in 1951. The actual site is a private lot to the east - so please no trespassing! However, visitors can nearly duplicate the photograph from the road right-of-way.
The First Congregational Church of Silverton is the most notable foreground landmark in the photograph. It has not changed much in the 60 years since the original. The same is true for the homes, as well. The biggest difference between now and then are the addition of trees in Silverton.
