On the communuate office of Laragnais communes is a "sundial" painting showing all the crests of the communes of the district and an time logrithmic time line. Rémi Potey was creative with this sundial declining west of north.

Rémi Potey enjoyed a remarkable series of commissions in the Pays de Buech, with well over a dozen sundials over the last 15 years. All his paintings are unique but he does have dominant themes. In general, the painting is more important than the sundial. At the county office for Laragne (Communuate de Communes du Laragnais), he was challenged by the northwest facing wall and the need to include all the local communes on the Laragnais dial. He succeeded admirably but the normal time function of a sundial are ignored.
This sundial painting shows the crests of all seven communes of the Laragnais. Each commune has its own Rémi Potey sundials on their town halls but here they are all represented by their crests, Laragne Montéglin, Montier Allemond, Le Poet, Lazer, Upaix, Eyguians and Ventavon.
We were at about 3:45 pm CET in October and the sun had just come onto the north west facing sundial. The time lines are in one sense wrong but in an artistic sense important as they represent a logarithmic type of time scale "1 hours, 2 days, 3 weeks, 4 months, 5 years, 6 centuries, 7 millennia, 8 millions of millennia, 9 eternity. I give him full credit for artistic expression but to a pragmatic engineer, this dial fails as a sundial telling the time of day.
This county office is at the edge of Laragne-Montélin on the road to Lazer.
