This, unique and definitely one of a kind bronze, weathervane was made by a local fire fighter long ago and has become something of an area landmark.

I was told by some of the volunteers the weathervane bird was hand made long ago by a member of the fire company. I am also told the sculpture pre-dates the existing 1952 structure and is a leftover from the original fire station. The weathervane sits high atop a beautiful bell tower, on the left side of the fire house. The bird is not from a recognizable species, at least not one that I now. I suppose it is just a general sculpture which represents our fine-feathered friends. The birds wings are spread giving it a span of about 4 feet. His head is facing almost north.
