This 1 Megawatt AC solar power system has 6,256 photovoltaic panels spread across the roofs of 5 buildings at the HP San Diego Site. The panels are poly-crystalline silicon, tilted at 15 degrees to a southerly exposure. The system has 4 250kW DC to AC inverters.
The system provides 10% of the site's electricity use. The system was activated in October 2008.
The solar panels are not visible from ground level and are not accessable to the public. The GPS coordinates are from the inverter boxes.
