The Kolho railway station is a fine example of 19th century Finnish railway stations.
Kolho used to be a busy railway station when most trains still traveled north via Haapamäki. These days only a few trains stop at Kolho on a daily basis.
The station was built at the same time as the railroad (1881-1883) and the architecture is typical for railway stations at the time. In the image gallery you can view a picture of the station with the village name in cyrillic lettes (from the time that Finland was part of Russia).
The station itself is not used as a train station anymore, so any tickets need to be purchased on board the train.
There is small parking area on the southside of the station.
