Official Description: Portrait of Thomas Jefferson standing on top of a replica of the "Liberty Bell" before it was cracked. Placed at intervals around the bell are four winged, allegorical figures: at the front is Liberty, at the back is Justice, on Jefferson's proper right is Human Freedom, and on Jefferson's proper left is Religious Freedom. Religious Freedom holds a tablet, and Jefferson holds a scroll which represents the Declaration of Independence.

Inscriptions:
PROCLAIM LIBERTY THROUGHOUT ALL THE LAND UNTO THE INHABITANTS THEREOF (LEV. XXIV)
TO PERPETUATE THE TEACHINGS AND EXAMPLES OF THE FOUNDERS OF THE REPUBLIC. THIS MONUMENT TO THOMAS JEFFERSON WAS PRESENTED TO THE PEOPLE
