Stinson Beach's three mile long, white sand beach make it one of northern California'a favorite beaches for swimming. It is also popular for board and wind surfing, rafting and boogie-boarding. There are extensive picnic tables and barbecues. On hot days, the parking lot often fills up by 11AM.
The adjacent town of Stinson Beach has several restaurants, a small grocery store and a handful of shops.
Stinson Beach is part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.
