This Aermotor has been disabled by a single seed. Sometime ago, somewhere nearby a bird carried a seed from a Hackberry Tree (Celtis occidentalis L.) and stopped briefly on the tower of this mill, leaving his tiny payload and eventually producing a tree that grew up and embraced this mill, freezing it in place.
This is actually quite common, but most sprouts have been pulled before they get very big. This is a classic example of what could happen....
