The Burr Canyon Trestle was constructed in 1908 by the Spokane, Portland and Seattle Railway (SP&S), which completed this line between Portland and Spokane in 1909. The SP&S became part of the Burlinton Northern Railroad (BN) in 1970 and this line was abandoned in 1987. The Washington State Parks acquired the right of way in 1991 and established the Columbia Plateau Trail State Park along the route. The bridge is currently closed to all use.



The Burr Canyon Trestle is about 1000 foot long steel bridge built on a slight curve with eight supports.

The coordinates for this waymark are on Wash. Hwy. 263 just east of bridge. Coordinates of the bridge would be approximately N 46° 30.390' W 118° 37.106'
