The N. S. Chouteau Walsh Mansion at 7 Portland Place was built beginning in 1927. The house was designed by the architectural firm of Labeaume & Klein. The mansion was built for N.S. Chouteau Walsh who was the president of a glass and brick firm in St. Louis and is a descendant of the founding family of St. Louis.
